About the League
Early Minutes show the decision to form the League was taken on Tuesday night, February 26th 1929. The following gentlemen were present at the Castle Inn, Coningsby:- Mr Bullock, Mr Allen, Mr F Scarborough, and S Manning.
At the following meeting on 6th March 1929 rules were established including Rule 4 which established that "the cup for winners is the property of the League and shall be returned to League HQ, the Castle Inn, at the end of the season".
Membership in that first season consisted of five clubs: Tattershall, Billinghay, Castle Hotel, Ruskington and Coningsby. No reply had been received from Woodhall Spa or George Flintham's team, Metheringham.
The entrance fee was three shillings.
